@ 5:34 AM
been a couple of interesting days... btw, HAPPY CNY!! wished i was home though-collecting red packets...
still, i had a good time. steamboat reunion and we went to check out the boxhill festival. end up buying the Taiwanese series-black & white for only 12 bucks. i sld have bought more of the many many DVDS on sale, but i was suspecting the quality to be bad so i decided not to take the risk. it was super clear though.. SIGHS!!! sld have bought a few more. haha.
& he was so sweet to have bought my fav. buns and dumplings before we arrived. i actually went to the store wanting to buy the buns home, and they said it was sold out. so it was him who bought the last packet!! it's still mine in the end!! HAHAHA..
went by mark's hse and spent the evening with him. he has such a deceving front. can easily chat up a lot if he wants to.. hehe...walked to chinatown and coincidentally saw lion dance + fire crackers... so smokey-kinda hindered our view. but it was better than nothing :) we actually ran out of the asian store when we heard the lion dance and caught it just in time!
sunday was the actual CNY! went along with henry, christle and friends for yumcha at gold leaf-burwood. it was the furthest i have ever gone for yumcha in melbourne. haha. they picked each of us up and were quite late the time we arrived. haha. luckily still had a table. thd food wasnt too bad - but nt fantastic. just good variety i guess. after shang palace in spore, no other yumcha can really satisfy me le.... spoilt le.. HAHA:)
still, i felt so young on that table. lol. after yumcha headed to westfield and went to Laurent for tea/coffee. so glad i actually went along tht day cos i met a senior and she invited me to join her on monday to scrub in on a caesarian surgery!!!! i was so excited cos i always wanted to witness one, but since i wasnt a AMS student at RWH, i haven got the opportunity to.
though i wil get to see it next year perhaps, i was still overwhemled when i saw the baby being lifted from the mom's womb. it was so much bigger than i expected and nt as ugly as i thought. ;P it was such a cute little baby and to see the father being so brave, being in theatre with the wife and take videos was really cool.
emm, O&G seems like a good 2nd option after anaesthesia. :) haha
sry tht i cldnt join gezzel & the rest for brunch and the med pple for lunch though. if only i cld spilt into three i am sure i cld ahve so much more fun. haha.
had a great monday - saw caesarian in the morning and tagged along ailing at RWH. their gowns are nicer, slimmer cut and softer material. after lunch, i went back to RMH and helped irene out in gastroscopy and bronchoscopy. sighs. as usual i was high just poking needles into patients. felt so good if i got it right the 1st try. ;P
geeezzzz!!!!! so many things are happening.. i dont know wat sld i do.... :(

i adopted a new hobby recently.i like sitting alonei like watching peoplei like meeting random yet friendly peoplei like staring into space and just wondering about the futurei like thinking and reflecting on the pasti like putting on my sunnies and closing my eyesi like people not recognising mei like that i can hide from the world sometimesi like taking the train. it allows me to do these things i like. i found a new hobby:)may be weird but i actually have lots of train stories to tell. i may be the next j.k rowling... perhaps i may write up a book on my journeys one day:)oh and melb city was flooded yesterday! i was in water kneehigh... was drenched and soaked from head to toe. my sleeveless and skirt was wet and i felt so naked! lol. just glad i wasnt in pants though-wld be a disaster walking through the water. ;) i wld have just swam..hehe.. still, i made it for tutoring, 20 min late. but it was fun! cos i got to sit the train and experienced flood for the first time. ;P& though i dont get to spend a proper CNY this year back home, i did help to bake lots of CNY cookies.. peanut cookies to be exact. ;) rolling into balls and passing pheyyee's sharp eyes (they BETTER look like round small balls!).. hehe... & i got plenty planned out this weekend though. so it's ok.i hope u dont feel guilty -cos it was wise& i move on:)

i am finally done recruiting my patients for AMS!! yippee!!
Des was so cute, he asked: "So Jacq, so what is going to happen to you now??" LOL>.<
i actually paused and thought "ya, i am redundant now." hahaha.... probably still tag along and hopefully get to do more clinical stuff :)
& i just received my project outline feedback after many many months. tanun received his and so i quickly check my email and there it was. i cant believe the AMS coordinator actually read each of our project outlines and type a page of feedback to us. how tedious. he actually even noticed my spelling mistakes.
he wrote:
"I am amused to note that in two consecutive paragraphs used the word 'standardisation'
and the word 'randomized'. This represents both British and American spelling in the
same document. In Australia we use British spelling, not American spelling. The fact
that Microsoft has the arrogance to assume our spelling is the same as theirs doesn’t
make it correct"
what sarcasm.. ;)
emm, noting tht i shall be more free after finishing recruitment, i decided to get a job. and i so i randomly went online and decided to apply for two tutoring jobs since i took the trouble to type my CV anyways. & lucky me, i got both! yays. one is brainless work at Kumon with small kids, the other is what i may not even be qualified to teach - biology year 12 - which is smiliar to College. i was quite stressed the day before i went for the first bio lesson, i actually dug out all my trinity notes and went through them! since the syllabus for VCE biology is different from Trinity, i went online and frantically searched for all the possible useful websites tht could help me cover up for the fact i haven touched biology since 4 years ago!!! haha..
& i am so glad yesterday went well. both girls were super nice and i felt a sense of accomplishment after teaching and talking for 2 1/2 hrs. haha. i hope they cldnt see how nervous i was. lol. One is Spanish the other girl is Lebanese. how cool is tht? :)
i am just glad for AMS. it has allowed me lots of new opportunities that i have never thought i wld do. :) meeting new pple, talking to pple, being surrounded my pple all the time still gives me a sense of insecurity, but at least i think i can cope better now. & i got my first proper job before 21! :):)
emm, yesterday mel said we sld all write 5 things we wanna accomplish before we turn 30. Tht is 10 years from now...
1) go on a "round the world" trip with my parents :)
2) engaged/married
3) open a bakery or a pharmacy
4) return to singapore with a job after specialisation
5) still be in touch with high school and uni friends - pple i hang out with now:)
ambitious enough?? :)

the moon seemed so near, so round and bright and beautiful. but i just cldnt take a picture nice enough to justify what i saw just from my balcony. >.<

been enjoying nice brunches this weekend. weather was perfect these two days, sunny and warm:) nice company + good food = :):):)
watched NINE on Friday, the ending was bad, but overall was quite an enjoyable one:)
"Tic Tock" by Kesha, fav. song at the moment - i am partying in my head the whole day, no wonder i am exhausted! :)
it was a very interesting moment.
it was funny when he smiled and asked "so how?"
his grin was mocking yet serious at the same time.
somehow i felt perhaps he understood what i was jabbering about.
how come i only noticed it now - that perhaps i have misread him all these while...
haha.. the revelation was indeed insightful enough for me to jote it down
this person never fail to amuse me.. but u probably wont read this so it's ok ;)

every muscle in my body hurts. the only thing i should do right now is sleep. :)
since saturday, there has been non-stop activities. Horseriding at Uncle Nev's was great, except it rained a little. tht took 5 hrs.
awake from 7am, i was a little drained by then. at night, we meddies had steamboat gathering, which was super spontaneous yet superbly successful. everyone was there:) talked and ate lots, by the time i reached home was past midnight. i realise how AMS actually made us closer, though we dont see each other in lectures everyday anymore. :)
sunday, i woke up to a hot day and decided to take a cold morning swim for an hr plus. i cooked lunch for my sis and i, washed up, vacuumed the whole apartment and yet in the afternoon, i was playing 3 hrs of badminton at albert park. ;) 8 of us - two courts, means we had little rest.
Monday had to wake up at 6am as usual for an early start into RMH. morning was great assisting scopes. by afternoon, i was dozing off every so often i decided i sld just go home. in the evening, we had another round of badminton which demanded much more out of my already tired body since everyone was so pro. HAHA. why am i playing badminton instead of tennis? ;)
today is australia's day - public hols means no work. :)
headed to chelsea beach and played the whole morning till i was half dead. haha. we were swimming against the waves, played volleyball on the sand, which was awefully hard to run on. the water was so clear but so so cold. i saw jet ski and speed boats zooming past, though sadly i didnt get the chance to try one. they created big waves for us to ride on though, as the boat drove past the waters! haha. did i mention the weather was really really good :) didnt get much of a sunburnt yet the sun was still shinning. thanks for the sunblock supplies!!
boxhill for lunch. didnt realise it was already 4pm by then. the prawn dumpling noodles there were as awesome as i remembered them to be. :0 and though my fav. mochi were sold out, i managed to get my GTRB buns!! ;) shortform. lols. **guess**
back home, i realise i have lots of laundry to do. had to iron my previous load of washed clothes and then load another pile into the washing machine. sometimes i wonder if ironing makes any difference to my image. LOL>.<>
anyways, there was an exciting tennis match to watch as i ironed those clothes. Nadal vs. Andy Murray. i nearly burnt my tee-shirt. lol.
& i managed to catch the fireworks at federation sq. from my place. means i didnt have to leave my hse, which i am determined to stay put in till tomorrow. hehe.. rest is needed for my aching body. how come i feel age catching up on me, even before i turn 21. ;(
only consolation: i had a freaking awsome past few days and i can CHOOSE not to go to work tmr! :)
P.S. this is an uninteresting post, just a random rant my muscles had to give after they were overworked! :)
