the pictures are taking so long to upload... :( maybe i will continue another time...back from Mornington Peninsula road trip...Henry was so nice to lend us a car for two days so we decided to take a drive down the coastal roads and spend a night at a farmstay :) i teased my dad he was driving a car tht was for a guy half his age, cos it was a WRX, with such a loud engine. haha. The night before, had dinner with him, christle and lingli at "The Plume" in Doncaster... Nice chinese dinner, especially the roast duck was really tender and yummy. but the portions were rather small for the price... after dinner, headed across to "Pancake Parlour" and continue pigging out! Deserts! ordered too many pancakes which came drenched in chocolate sauce and walnuts... so sinful! haha.. & i satisfied my craving for ice cream!!:) hehe... anyways, we drove down the coast, stopped by several towns like Franston, Rosebud, and then Sorrento where we had lunch. my dad and i took a drive there abt two years ago during my trinity year and had fish and chips at this store. we remembered it was good so we went back to the same store this time and ordered a set. then we crossed over to another restaurant and ordered another set of fish and chips, just to have something different. haha. it was a seaport town so fish and chips was the apparent choice for lunch right? haha.. both were good, but too much chips! more fish wld be nice:) visited the beaches and took pictures before continuing our trip down south to Flinders, where we stayed the night. arrived there nearly 3pm.we booked this place called "Botanica" through the internet. The owner is a retired botanist, and used to lecture at Monash. he owns 50 hectares of land, overlooking the National Park. it was really a rural farmstay located in a small town of Flinders... even in the town centre, we pathetically bought back Mrs Mac's pie for dinner as everything was closed... haha... but luckily we brought "food stocks" frm home. i think we actually packed as though we were travelling for a few days...fruits, bread, cup noodles etc etc... breakfast was provided and we had free range eggs, freshly taken frm the hen's coup...my only complaint was tht the cocks were already "coocoocoocoo.....coocoooo...." at 5 plus am... sighs...disturbed our sleep!!!was quite an interesting experience though the house wasnt tht clean. cos the animals cld just wonder in and out, especially the dogs... haha... but the it was comfortable:) he had many typical farm animals like geeses, turkeys, horses, cows, chickens etc... i think its raher cool to be raising all these farm animals and then having them provide u with yr daily meals since there is no market or supermarket nearby in this part of the country. u can always slaughter one chicken for dinner, have milk and eggs for breakfast and even yr own turkey during Christmas... emm, i think u wld appreciate the food in frnt of u better...my sis and i spent the night watching several movies on her laptop before our eyes gave way.. haha... such a long tiring journey there, so we needed sleep! but thanks to the cocks tht disturbed out peaceful night. haha.we set off early the next day and took another route back to melbourne. along the way, we looked for a horse-riding school cos my sis was interested. we came across one in a brochure but for 1hr rides, it didn include cantering/trotting, only walking the horse... decided it wld be rather boring so we backed out and continued our journey back...stopped by several nurseries cos my dad is looking for a tree for my balcony. temporary, the huge pot outside is being occupied by this yellow daffodil which we took back frm the garden at "Botanica".. Neil was so nice to dig it up for us... lol...it is so hard to find a suitable tree for the balcony cos it has to be "sam and jac PROOF":) dont expect us to rem to water it regularly!! HAHA. stopped by Dandenong plaza for lunch, had nice nice kebab at the food court:) we each decided to get the same thing cos my dad bought the first one, was good, so my sis bought another one, then i cldn see another better choice so three of us just sat there and enjoyed the same kebab! haha.. :) supposed to go up the Dandenong mountain but it was getting late and so decided it was not worth the trip up since i hav been up before and it wasnt anything fantastic too... heard the scones there are really famous though..so yest. night had dinner with henry, christle n lingli again at "Tian An", vietnamese at Footscray... i had not had vietnamese for the longest time and yest. night the wind was SO strong, abt 100km'hr and i was freezing cold, so hot Pho was certainly a comfort food:) this morning i FINALLY got to try out the yumcha at "Tai Pan", thanks to uncle Lee... :) haha... 6 of us was just the ideal group to go have yumcha since most dishes come in threes... the variety there was indeed HUGE, and the taste was good too... esp. the prawn dumplings:) loves!! haha...I am so satisfied these few days with all the good food around... :) haha...so smart right? take the chance when my dad is ard to feast.. haha...
went to melb uni just now cos my sis wanted to buy a melb uni jumper... actually i think it is rather ex, cos for $75, i think u can get a branded one right? i bought one for my brother last year, now my sis has one, i wonder is it time for me to flaunt my affiliation to melb uni too?? HAHA.
ok, tmr driving again:) lunch with lay n gp, hav to clear the fridge for dinner and then BACK HOME!!! spore here i come:) cant wait!!!
