today has been so good:)
never did i expect all my plans to turn out so smoothly within a day. haha.
yumcha this morning at sharkfin's hse... cravings!
then we decided to try our luck:)
and i won the lottery tickets for the Wizard of Oz broadway musical! (from my last post u sld see how desperate i was to catch it)... haha. its considered lottery tickets but i still needed to pay for them. the point is they were FRONT ROW seats, right in the middle, directly behind the conductor LOL.. haha... seats no. AAA 27 & 28...
it was indeed just one of the best seats in the whole BIG theatre (was surprised at this weird hour the theatre was full house-1pm on a thursday)... we cld even see the actors' saliva "fountain-ing" everywhere as they worked their powerful vocals.. :)
so "WICKED:)"... overall, i still prefer phantom of the opera with its dramatic effects and fantastic songs, but this musical didnt let me down too:)
it was a happy happy ever after ending... cos its supposed to be the "untold" story of the wizard of Oz. the storyline was quite interesting, but its really a fairytale. haha. apparently the Wicked Witch of the West is actually good too, it was All just a misunderstanding... LOL.. haha...
anyways, after all tht ranting...
'WICKED, the spellbinding and spectacular hit musical, tells the untold story of the legendary witches from L. Frank Baum's classic, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
When Dorothy famously triumphed in Oz, we only ever heard one side of the story. Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, brings to life the captivating, surprising tale of how a misunderstood, green girl named Elphaba became ‘wicked’ but her unlikely friend, Glinda, became 'good'.
The exceptional creative team that has brought this captivating story to life on stage includes many of Broadway’s most celebrated creative talent. When WICKED opened on Broadway, it worked its magic on critics and audiences alike and won 15 major awards including the Grammy ® and three Tony ® Awards. Today WICKED is one of the most successful shows in theatre history.
"Broadway's biggest blockbuster" New York Times'and since i only had one lecture today... i had to skip it! haha.. I had no choice, in my defence.. hehe...but there is always lectopia:) the musical is indeed more worth it than an hour of cranial nerves lecture...LOL..but means i "wasted" the whole day from morning till now... when i have two tests and a driving test next week. sighs... still, jacq is so grateful today:)
