bread hasnt tasted so good before.. lol.. hahai finally took the effort to make my first loaf of home-made bread, coz my aunt gave my mom a bread-machine..:) i love bread and thus i couldnt wait to the first to make use of the machine. but first i had to invest in all the measuring cups, yeast and flour etc... searching high and low just for the extras... the machine was there but the ingredients werent tht easy to find...lol... so i decided to start with the basic traditional white bread:) since it is my first experiment, i took extra care in measuring everything extactly:) lol. even when the recipe said 1 1/4 teaspoon of yeast! i wondered if that extra grain of flour or yeast wld have made any difference. it took nearly 3 hrs for my highly anticipated bread. plus the preparation to measure out the ingredients, not forgetting searching for the ingredients... HAHA. i would have been so pissed if werent for the fact that the bread was 80% successful i would say:) haha. the bread smelt great and was moist, but it was too dense though, didnt rise enough. i wondered where it went wrong. anyways, my bro got the honour of slicing the bread up. he kept awake to have the first slice..hehe:)still, i dont think i would be putting effort to do another one soon, esp since i can always get a freshly baked loaf so cheaply and easily, plus i am not satisfied with just white bread. LOL... :) if i decided to bake once more, maybe a green tea-red bean loaf would be perfect:)random...but i love this date:) 21 dec 08... :) great day too... audi showroom, ikea, east coast park, yumcha, suntec city, chinatown, baking all in one day! yays... hectic, was out frm 8am this morning.. exhausted now...one thing though, i didnt get to eat tang yuan today.. haha...wld have been nice to follow the tradition, but i guess u get them all year round nowdays.. next week is gg to be another busy busy week...:) & christmas is coming!resolution: to move my dad's car out of our gate and hopefully not bang into anything. i finally found out tht i am allowed to drive in spore even with my P licence frm melb:) p.s. btw, 'the nutcracker' ballet at the esplanade was kinda nice:) go watch if u have the chance:)
